What you need to know - High School

PENN-GRIFFIN SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS

High School Program

The Arts Program

In addition to an Honors and Advanced Placement academic curriculum, Penn-Griffin School for the Arts offers courses in eight art disciplines/majors: Band, Dance, Guitar, Modern Music Production, Orchestra, Theatre Arts, Visual Arts, and Vocal Music.  Unique to Penn-Griffin is the opportunity for students to journey through the arts in one school from sixth grade through twelfth grade.  (NOTE: High School acceptance is based on a comprehensive application process including an audition and interview.)  Upon acceptance into the high school program, the student will continue formal study in his/her art concentration through a supportive environment with other students who share the passion and love for the arts.  Check out our school at our website – http://penngriffin.gcsnc.com

How many schools can I apply to?

Ø  Each student may apply to five high school options from their list of available choices as they wish. You will be asked to rank order the schools by preference. This rank order will not impact on your chances of receiving an offer from each school. However, the rank order will impact whether you remain on a waiting list once you receive responses from each school. If you accept an offer, you will remain on the waitlist for any school ranked higher than the school where you accepted the offer, but you will be removed from the waitlist for any school ranked lower.

Ø  Once you have completed the application and clicked submit, modifications to the application will no longer be accepted.

When will I know if my child has been offered a choice seat?

Families will receive notification of choice seat offers by Friday, February 6, 2026. Notifications will be communicated by email or text according to the notification method selected when families set up their account. Families must accept or decline offers by Friday, February 13, 2026. Once a family has accepted an offer from a choice school, they will receive a link to request transportation and information from the school to complete the enrollment and registration process.  Transportation by Choice Program - Guilford County Schools
